    I was punished like this in Thailand in the 2000s. I still remember the pain from the long rattan stick being whipped onto my butt. The standard position for being punished in Thailand is to stand with your hands folded across your chest, as in the clip. Or sometimes the skirt should be gathered tight against the buttocks. We were punished in front of the class or in the administrative teacher's room. I received 20 lashes as a punishment, which left me unable to lie upright or sit comfortably while studying. The feeling of pain was beyond description. But I've been punished like this so many times that it's like I'm addicted to being punished with this kind of beating.

    I think this is from Malaysia. As far as I know, in Malaysia even male teachers may give caning on girls' bottom like this. It may be considered normal there.

Cane marks could be visible for a week.
